List of tasty goodness

Organic flour? Check. Unrefined caster sugar? Yes please. British unsalted butter? Got it. Free range eggs? Always. I don't compromise on quality and you can taste the difference in Den cakes. I'm all for beautiful cake, but if it's not tasty too, I'm not interested.

 

The Den Bake Shop menu* includes my take on some popular classics and some of my own original flavour combinations, tweaked to make your taste buds tingle. I like a proper slice of cake - something I can enjoy from start to finish without it becoming too rich or saccharine - and you'll find Den cakes tend towards a semi-sweet taste. I'm not one for very sweet buttercream either, so my recipes use less sugar than most recipes recommend.

Banana Chip

Squidgy, plant-based banana layers filled with dairy-free dark Callebaut chocolate ganache and crushed plantain crisps.

Carrot

Our famously melt-in-the-mouth signature carrot cake layers filled with lemon buttercream OR ginger dark Callebaut chocolate ganache.

Chilli Carrot

Featuring a gentle chilli heat, this carrot cake is filled with spiced dark Callebaut chocolate ganache and (optional) crushed chilli-toasted almonds.

Drunken Carrot

A 2* Great Taste Award 2023 winner, soaked in Appleton Estate's Kingston 62 rum, filled with rum-infused dark Callebaut chocolate ganache and toasted coconut flakes.

Chocolate on Chocolate

Plant-based, intense cocoa cake filled with dairy-free Callebaut chocolate ganache. Add caramelised hazelnuts for a little surcharge.

Chocolate Salted Caramel

Semi-sweet deep cocoa cake layers, filled with Den salted caramel buttercream and pretzel pieces.

Chocolate + Vanilla Marble

Vanilla pod and deep cocoa swirled layers, filled with dark Callebaut ganache.

Coconut Lime

Layers of zingy coconut and lime cake soaked in fresh lime syrup, filled with lime buttercream and toasted coconut flakes.

Ginger Apples ‘n’ Pears

Moist apple and pear cake layers filled with almond flakes and ginger infused dark Callebaut ganache.

Jamaican Rum

Packed with blended Appleton Estate's Kingston 62 rum soaked raisins, this cake is filled with rum-infused dark Callebaut chocolate ganache.

Lemon Poppyseed

Punchy lemon and poppyseed cake soaked in fresh lemon syrup, filled with lemon buttercream + fresh homemade berry conserve.

Light hazelnut cake filled with hazelnut buttercream, dark Callebaut chocolate ganache and crushed caramelised hazelnuts.

Moist almond cake layers filled with homemade mango curd and pistachio buttercream, made with Den pistachio paste.

Layers of moist vanilla bean cake, filled with vanilla bean buttercream whipped with fresh Den berry conserve.
